Following the analysis and evaluation of differing mark schemes and assessment objectives (past and present), there are 51 skills and qualities that are consistently expected in order to achieve English GCSE examination success.

Curriculum content and assessment legislation has and will continue to change, but the 51 skills and qualities expected and accepted of a proficient reader, writer, speaker and listener are impervious to intervention.
 

Furthermore, it is the understanding and ownership of these 51, constant, skills and qualities that empowers the individual with the certainty to thrive, not only within examination but in the reading, writing, speaking and listening of ‘real-life’ communication.
